Banar Build Guide / Personal Experience
A player's account of leveling a Naga to Banar, covering chakra point allocation (3 Muscle / 2 Heart after early equal split) and a skill-by-skill breakdown of attack, defense and support skills with which to max and which to leave at level 1 for prerequisites. Includes notes on skills like Stam and Bukampaa where leveling does not improve stun duration or chance, plus special mentions for situational skills. Later updated with a downloadable text file adding equipment and upgrade sections.
I am new here in Kathana Server, a casual player which started playing about 2-3 weeks ago. I would like to share my experience leveling a Naga -> Banar character.
Please feel free to provide feedback and also to provide comments to further expand this discussion. Information below is based on my experience playing / leveling a Banar character. Thus take this information with a grain of salt as it might not be the same for everyone and everyone has their own opinons aswell.
Beware Long post ahead xD
Version 1: (13-May-2026 release) - Initial release with discussion about Chakra Allocation and Skill Allocation
I. Chakra Allocation:
Base (Character Creation) Muscle = 15 Heart = 15
You can allocate differently. I opted to have a balance start and my initial plan was to have an equal amount of Muscle and Heart (5-5 per 2 levels) which changed eventually as you will see below.
Per Level-up (5 points allocation) Muscle = 3 Heart = 2 (8 points allocation) Muscle = 5 Heart = 3
Basic Banar Chakra Allocation slightly focusing on damage. Survivability will mostly rely on equipments. In my case, until level 50+ I went with my initial plan of equal Muscle and Heart (5-5 per 2levels) however as I am playing further I notice that character defense and life is good with equipment consideration. Thus I changed the build entirely and decided to go with 3 Muscle - 2 Heart allocation. (Took me until level 64 to finally fix my chakra points allocation since I do not want to use Chakra reset item)
II. Skill Allocation:
Note 1: I will not say which skill you need to learn per level, Instead I will state which skills I learned and found really helpful.
**Note 2: **My character is only level 64+ as of the moment, thus skills beyond my level I cannot comment for now.
**Note 3: **Skills that will not be mentioned means I did not use it personally for I do not think its useful at the moment.
**Note 4: **Some skills are listed as Special Mention, cause I did not use those but might be useful for others depending on playstyle.
TLDR (if you just want a quick access)
- Baluka = Max
- Amada Cass = Max, level-up whenever possible
- Gatana = Lv1, for pre-requisite
- Bizai = Max, level-up whenever possible
- Baluka Mantra = Lv1, for pre-requisite
- Stam = Lv1
- Bukampaa = Lv1
- Roca Trio = Max, depending on your weapon of choice
- Frahasta Roca = Max, level-up whenever possible
- Tanutra = Max
- Savitri Force = Lv1, for pre-requisite
- Samate = Max, level-up whenever possible
- Kundalina Lising = Max, level-up whenever possible
- Akate = Lv1, for pre-requisite
- Arorakin = Max, level-up whenever possible
For complete skill details and opinions, continue below
(A) Attack Skills
**1. Baluka **-> Max -> Increases Physical Attack.
2. Amada Cass-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> Bread and butter skill. -> Damage multiplier is good per level-up. -> Will also be part of Banar Combo Skills therefore this should be max.
3. Gatana-> Level 1 only, just for pre-requisite. -> knockback sounds nice but as a melee this is counter-intuitive. Has its uses but not worth leveling-up.
4. Bizai (Banar Skill)-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> Banar Combo skill with high damage output
5. Baluka Mantra-> Level 1 only, just for pre-requisite -> skill that miss even if the description says NEVER MISS (could be good if it actually never misses)
6. Stam-> Level 1 only (IMHO) -> single target stun skill, very useful for stun-locking enemies that you cannot fast kill -> increasing level does not increase stun duration or % success chance, damage increase is not good also.
7. Bukampaa-> Level 1 at early stages of the character, I kept mine at lv 1 for now. -> AoE stun with decent damage and fast cast time (can do animation cancel to dish out damage faster). -> Some says this skill can also be chained, however I find the timing very hard to get thus I did not bother. -> again leveling up this skill does not increase the stun duration or the % success chance, up to you if you want to level this up.
8. Roca Trio (Prajas, Dara or Tomara)-> Max -> pick-one base on the weapon type of your choice. I personally use spear so it was Tomara Roca for me.
9. Frahasta Roca-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> Increase damage for two-hand weapons, which you should be using.
10. Nauti (Special Mention)-> I personally did NOT level this skill early, but has its uses for sure. -> stops target movement but can still attack, for melee leveling its not as useful (unless your escaping) -> for a change, leveling this skill improves its duration. -> Cool skill for sure, has its uses for party play and Kruma, but for early solo leveling this is not a priority.
11. Prabeja (Special Mention)-> I personally did NOT level this skill or use it until now. -> I mentioned this because of the high ignore defense chance (though damage per level is not that high) -> might be more useful if can be used from afar, up to you if you want to invest on this later on.
12. Baruna Force (Special Mention)-> I personally did NOT level this skill -> increases your accuracy, Banar skill miss ALOT - but better just invest on AS refine on equips. -> Note that all skill points will be reset on 2nd Change job, thus you can learn this early on then don't once 2nd Job skill reset hits
(B) Defense Skills
1. Tanutra-> Max (personal opinion) -> gives flat defense per level, some says its not that good but I find it useful. -> you can opt to not learn this skill and allocate the points elsewhere, up to you.
2. Savitri Force-> Level 1 at early stages of the character for pre-requisite, but is a promising skill to max-out later on. -> more of a Kruma or PVP skill IMHO
3. Samate-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> Absorbs damage, great for leveling. 25% at level 5 then add another absorb damage from a rare equipment set. -> unfortunately this is a spell for Banar and not a passive skill (which is only for Satya)
(C) Support Skills
1. Kundalina Lising-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> Great skill, will save you alot of pots - nuf said.
2. Akate-> Level 1 at early stages of the character, I kept mine at lv 1 for now. -> element resist, really good but no points to spend here early on. -> Maybe if you choose not to learn Tanutra then you can spend the points here.
3. Arorakin-> Max, Level-up this skill every time available. -> increases you damage but depletes health ALOT on lower levels. -> honestly I don't use it that much currently because of the drain HP, maybe on later levels and better equips it will be more bearable. -> you can choose to not learn this for now and spend the points elsewhere, but I sometimes use this when fighting elite mobs for example.
4. Tarka and Mayat (Special Mention)-> I played with this pre-2nd Change Job, it has its uses but nothing that pots cannot do. -> thus in my opinion, play with this pre-2nd change job - check if you like it then decide from there if you like to spend point on this early. -> Maybe useful for Kruma as emergency heal? Idk
5. Frosana and Frosana Batia (Special Mention)-> as a solo player for now I haven't learned this. But I can see its uses when it comes to party leveling, Lurer at Yakkus?
III. Leveling Guide, Equipments and Upgrades
(Blank for now, will be updated if incase people needs it)
As I was inspired by the pinned guide for Druka which @riven0591 has directed me to a couple of weeks ago.
I decided to update the Banar guide that I did on a whim about 1 month ago.
I do made a .txt file this time (same with the Druka guide that was shared to me) where I included all the necessary details I can think of to guide new players who wants to play Banar character but is unsure of how to do it and needs a guide.
(I tried my best to make the guide as comprehensive as possible, therefore expect it to be lengthy)
the file includes:
I. Chakra Build Allocation II. Skill Points Allocation III. Equipments and Upgrades
I hope this will be a useful material which can help new players.
This guide is nowhere perfect, thus if anyone have some comments or suggestions, please feel free to comment and lets have a healthy discussion.

will be follwing this. btw, Mayat, or the skill that converts TP to HP has a good conversion rate. basically double. fast cast as emergency heal and as a naga, we have a lot of TP as well, due to the heart. On auto, i can make do with no pots, just having this cast once in a while. Like every 2 minutes or 3.

Added a game guide on how damage is computed based in inferences from using different armors. this might be of help to us Nagas with how we mostly soak in damage instead of avoiding it. /guides/apx-game-guide-damage-calculation-based-on-defense-and-damage-absorb

Gatana can be of great help depending on the situation. -When acting as tank, this can be used as a breather for both you and the FS when things get realy tough. just make sure to aim towards a safe direction. Mobs will move towards you automatically so thats a few extra seconds so dont chase, let them come. -when aggro is aimed towards your team, this can help redirect aggro or give time for them to run. -in kruma, this can be helpful as well for the very same instances above, specially from other melee class opponents. Unsure how it works though with other combiniations like Stun+repel or slow+repel. if stun+repel is possible then that could mean sending an enemy to the fray. Banars have 3 stun skills. While slow+repel can easily frustrate them.
